It has been almost one year since I retired from my 30 year career with the Clark County School District as a high school guidance counselor.  Although collecting a satisfying retirement, I am eager to begin working again in the field of education.  Over the last eight months, I have applied to numerous private high schools and trade colleges within Las Vegas, with very little results.  In addition, I have applied to public and private schools in the Cape Girardeau and Jackson Missouri areas, in hopes that I can acquire a position “before” I relocate to this area.  In the meantime, I have been serving as a substitute teacher and guidance counselor at Faith Lutheran Jr./Sr. High School and Goolsby Elementary, keeping up my skills in working with young people, while collecting some extra income.   I hope to continue on this path, until I eventually land a full-time position as a guidance counselor.  This “Education” blog page will be dedicated to my progress and experiences, pertaining to my education career.
